Unfortunately untill eveything falls back into place your going to have a hard time with him. Have you tried giving him infant tylenol? It really helped when my daughter had her shots and it should take the edge off enough for him to sleep through the night. At 11 months old the only way of showing you he's in pain is to fuss and cry and be cranky just like when they want anything else....they want you to also make them stop hurting the difference is you can feed a baby you can change their diaper and you can comfort him as much as possible but you cannot make him feel better so don't beat yourself up about it and just try to make him as comfortable as you can untill it blows over and it will! good luck : )

At 11 mos. old an cutting one tooth there are many more to come and they come one after the other and sometimes hurt a lot for a long time before they erupt. So, try feeding and then giving a pain reliever for the pain. Also give the baby something cold for teething to chew on, they make things you put in the fridge and it makes them feel better. It's going to continue off and on for the next yr. so be prepared. The eye teeth and the stomach teeth can cause temps. diarrhea, throwing up and all kinds of things so be ready. Just keep what the Dr. tells you to use for tooth pain with you all the time and feel inside the gums to see if there is a swollen spot, tht is the culprit. Good luck. They can start to erupt and then stop for a few days and start again too. So be ready. They sell those hard biscuits too...watch him in his high chair when you give him those. Also cool things like jelo or sherbert or popsicles help too.

He's probably getting more teeth. Use some baby orajel or give him children's Advil or Tylenol for the pain. How long has he gone without a wet diaper or eating? If this just started today, then I would wait and see how things go for another day. Try giving him Pedialtye, Gatorade or Popsicles if he won't take anything else. If he develops a high fever and gets crankier then you might want to bring him to the doctors to have his ears checked. I hope he feels better soon.

Well if he just got his first tooth on Saturday, one can only assume he is teething and more teeth are on the way. His gums are probably sore and that is why he is cranky. All you can do is apply some teething gel to his gums frequently and if he is really distressed you can also give him some baby asprin to help with his discomfort and inflammationl. It is normal for babies to be fussy and cranky when they are teething. I hope the little guy feels better soon!

I am not a doctor but a mother and I would take my baby to see another doctor and then if they still do not know go to a pediatric dermatologist. Your doctor should have referred you to one if she did not know what it is. A mother does not want to hear that the doctor does not know and that is that. Sounds like she is not considering how you feel too. The ER is not the place to go. ER's specialize in trauma etc. A pediatric physician sees more of what your baby has. Statistics say that a baby is more likely to be misdiagnosed at an ER. just for the simple fact that they do not treat children as often. It probably is not serious but you do need to follow up.

If he is not having wet diapers or eating, you need to take him to the Dr. right away. Babies can quickly become dehydrated which is very dangerous.
It is normal to be fussy with new teeth, but not normal to not have any output in their diaper or to take food.
Infant Tylenol and baby oragel may help relieve the tooth pain, but the greater concern right now is his not eating or needing to be changed.
Blessings,
Mom of 5 with another on the way

My son loves these mesh bags you can pick up at Target or Walmart in the baby section. They are brightly colored with a little handle and open up so you can put fresh fruit, frozen fruit or even an ice cube inside. The mesh prevents them from chocing on large peices and the rubbing feels good on their gums. It is a good way to ease their discomfort since you have to be careful with how much and often you give tylenol and oragel to your baby.

It could be pain from the tooth that is continueing to push up. Also, with my kids, teeth often came in in "pairs'- first, one, and then in a week or two, it's partner. Give him cold stuff to chew on- My kids liked frozen washcloths because of the cold and texture- and Tylenol to ease the pain.
Good luck.

He may still be cutting more teeth. Sometimes they come in all at once. Try giving him some tylenol for pain. If he is running a fever take him in could be an ear infection.
