Chiropractic treatment is not to be taken lightly. Those doctors can really help with a problem like yours. Not all of the methods they use for treatment are alike though. Some chiropractors concentrate on just one part of the body like the neck, some on the lower back, etc. It might cost around $50 for a visit, but it would be well spent if you want to try and see one. The adjustments feel great and I know you will find relief from this sort of doctor. Not all medical doctors agree with chiropractics though. Too bad you don't live in my town. I could refer you to mine. He's the greatest! Try it and see if it helps. It sure beats being all drugged up on pain pills or surgery as options!

Chiropractors come in all kinds. I perfer the Activator treatment. Traditional chiropractics can hurt you if they are done wrong. That is why I love the activator. It only moves one bone at a time, instead of twisting your whole body. It can somewhat expensive. My chiropractor charges me $40 a treatment because I don't have insurance. In respect to what your doctor told you, that is true for all medical practicioners. Get a second opinion. A good chiropractor can tell you if your problem is chiropractic-related. Get an opinion from someone you trust.

Chiropractors employ many of the same non-invasive treatments as a physical therapist, but none of the invasive ones. They go to school for a long time to learn their trade, just like medical doctors, but the medical establishment has succeeded for years in branding them as quacks. Decades ago, a lot of chiropractors did make outrageous claims about being able to cure all kinds of things, but most chiropractors today are serious professionals. There are just as many quack medical doctors as there as quack chiropractors, probably more. A good chiropractor will take x-rays before they ever treat you, to ensure that they can treat you at all. If your problem is more than they are trained for, they will immediately refer you to the proper medical doctor - usually a neurologist or orthopedist. Believe me, they do not want a malpractice suit for attempting to treat someone whose condition was beyond their ability to treat and making it worse.

I love my chiropractor. There are a few bad ones, but there are bad 'doctors', too. I tell him what is bothering me, he talks me through a solution and we decide if we'll do it. In every case, I have only gone for 2 treatments for each problem I've had. A consult is free, and each visit is $65.00.
With a chiropractor, they work with bone and tissue, and are not trying to disguise the pain with meds that will cost ALOT more than $1,000.

Because it really is an alternative form of treatment, chiropractic care works for some people and not for others. I have friends who go regularly to visit these doctors and would be crippled without them. Some conditions require only one visit, others require repeated visits.
As with all doctors, some chiropractors are good and some aren't. Get recommendations from friends at work or church or temple or daycare or school or wherever you meet people.

My opinion. When first diagnosed with arthritis I was told never to go to one. This is something they said that chiropractors could do nothing for....Well they told me this after these chiropractors came out...not long ago they were not considered real doctors but alternative medicine.

I have been going to a Chiropractor for 10+ years now and love it. Yes is costs money but I have gotten rid of most of my chronic pain and migraines with out pain meds. My health has improved and that is worth all the money in the world. It is not for everyone but certainly works for a lot of us.

My husband and daughter both receive chiropratic care and do well with it. If you have insurance it will most likely cover a chirorpactor if you pick one from the list provided by your insurance company. My hubby only pays his normal office visit co-pay and my daughter has no co-pay at the chiropractor office as she is under 17 yet. Looking at the x-rays of my daughers spine was pretty enlightening as I am a nurse and when I saw the crooked spine she had I was like WOW no wonder she has aches and pains.

Find one that takes insurance and if you can find one that is into alternative medicines. They seem like they have more knowledge about the body than one that is only a chiropractor
