I have never seen this before. While I have seen faint blood tinged mucous, I have never had blood come out with a bulb syringe. I would give her antibiotics for her ear infection and only use the bulb syringe when absolutely necessary. Try only squeezing it half way so that there is less suction. Stop when you see any signs of blood. I would also call my doctor or advice nurse and tell them what happened. No need to make an appointment, just a phone call. Good luck and I hope your daughter gets better soon.

No. You should be careful with that bulb syringe. If you thrust it too deep into baby's nose or baby's head makes a sudeen jerk when that thing is in, you may hurt the inside lining. You should keep it at the opening and suck out only excessive secretions. I don't think those syringes work much anyway. Tried with my daugther but no real relief.
It could be from the infection too although baby's sinuses are not really developed at that age. Call the doctor to make sure.

I hate those sucker things. They only made my son's congestion worse because the skin inside the nose is so delicate and the sucker would just make his skin puff up after I used it. I would guess that the blood is from congestion that's been in there for a while. If she's been rubbing her nose or sticking her finger in her nose or ears, she may have caused it. But, I'd call the nurse line too, just to see if they have other suggestions. Warm baths keep the baby in good spirits and help clear out some of that too, but make sure to keep her head out of the water. Good luck!

everything sounds normal except the blood, but it could be because of the infection. I've had a child with blood coming out of an infected ear. i would call the doctor and ask and make sure it's ok. be sure to give all the antibiotics as prescribed and return for a follow up visit to be sure ears clear up.

I know if you have a sinus infection then you can get blood when you blow your nose. So yes I'd say it's normal if she has a bad infection. Just to be safe I'd call the doc. I hope they gave her antibiotics. I hope your little doll feels better soon!

if the infection is that bad, her ear drum may have burst and that is where the blood is coming from. she needs to be seen by an ear, nose and throat specialist as soon as possible.
