It all depends on which colds symptoms you have. Sudafed and its generic equivalents are great for congestion, but do nothing for cough. They're not supposed to, after all. Determine which symptoms you have and then go purchase a medicine or two that will cover those symptoms. I've found Contac to work well, as does Sudafed, as do most meds. If you do Nyquil, you'll also need to add a decongestant if you're stuffy; they've taken that out of the formula now. I think the same is true for Dayquil, but read the package first.

Most OTC cold meds are next to worthless or are so. For fever and aches, Extra-Strength (500mg.) Tylenol is safest when taken as directed (No more than 8 tablets in 24 hours). Otherwise, for congestion, Claritan seems to be quite effective for most people, but it is a little pricey. For the watery eye, sniffles, and sneezes Sudafed works, but only for short periods at a time...then you have to wait four hours to take more.
Best medicine is prevention, proper rest, and fluids. Also, turn your furnace down at night so you don't get all dried out. That is an open invitation for a flu/cold germ to take root in your mucous membranes.

should not be a difficulty, considering Echinacea in ALL its types would not help colds in any respect. some years in the past a well being magazine revealed up an exceedingly undesirable learn which seems to be "The Bible" on echinacea ever considering. that is going to take years for this delusion to recede. this is hard to get at a pandemic, considering they propogate so luckily IN our cells. lots of drinks, a multivit, some vit C, some Vit D, relax, warm baths (virus hate warmth, that's why our notably intelligent bodies produce fevers.) i understand the extensive pharmaceutical agencies have been pushing Echinacea for years- and detroying wild plant life to get much extra. do no longer waste your money, have some warm tea with honey.

Olive Leaf Extract by "Herb Pharm"....it's in liquid form, and has no side effects...it immediately goes to work to kill any viruses in you...and it's all natural.

Cayenne Pepper in capsules (or sprinkled on soup) helps greatly with congestion AND is also an immune systen booster too....and drink lots of organic green tea to help your energy levels.

You'll see!! :) Get well soon!

i think Coricidin brand cold medicine works best. but caution must be used to avoid abuse. also called the triple C (or skittles) some people take much higher does than recommended. that is not good.
