(Happens when we're young too) Wish my late nights were as much fun as they used to be. Now though, I have Answers to come to when I can't sleep. You have your own individual sleep patterns. Don't try to Force them. Good Luck!! @8-)

Does this happen frequently? Will you sleep a lot for a week and then not a lot for a week? I need more info, but it could be mania that you are experiencing when you don't sleep much and are full of energy and then you drop back into depression when you are sleeping more and tired. Everyone's body is different and requires different amounts of sleep. I do recommend more than 3-4 hours though. If these sleep patterns are accompanied by feelings of energy, creativity, focus and then when you are sleeping more you feel low energy, unconcentration and unmotivation that is a clear sign of bi-polar disorder. Take a bi-polar quiz online by googling it and then see a therapist if is suggests so. Do not simply see an MD. All they will do is medicate you and not treat the root of the problem. A psychologist will be able to give you some medication to help you while the root of the problem is being treated.

maybe your body only requires 3-4 hours of sleep to feel refreshed and 7-8 hours is too much. Do you eat or drink alcohol late at night b4 bed? If you work is that the last thing on your mind at night? Do you fall asleep with the TV on? Try some different things. You never know cat naps may just work for you.
