yeah, go out and buy an external hard drive, i have an 80 GB external hard drive for my PC. I bought mine not only for pics, videos and music but to also store all i set-up programs so if i ever had to reformat my PC then i wouldn't have to go searching the net to reinstall everything.

If you have a network running through your house, you might want to consider one of the Network Attached Storage(NAS) devices. These are similar to external drives, but you can just plug them into your router and access them from any pc on the network.
Plus, most of them also double as an external drive through USB.
If you do not have a network, than an external USB drive will do the trick.

For large storage go for portable drives or external hard drives (the ones you put into a case yourself). The portable drives are smaller and lightweight, but external drives could end up being less expensive. Other than size and weight the external hard drives must also be plugged into a power outlet to run, where as portable drives are just plugged into the USB and are ready to go.

Oh yes...portable USB hard drives are huge right now. They are fairly inexpensive (depending on what size you want/need) and the will work on any PC with a USB connection. Just plug in and you are ready to go...no software required.

Sure. Buy (or make) a portable USB drive.
I've created a couple by combining a IDE-to-USB enclosure and a laptop HD. You get to choose the size of the HD. I've got a 20gb and an 80gb - work great.

get a usb flash disk or sd card that will satisfy your need. It is not expensive any longer. 4GB just for $40.
It is more reliable than hard drive.
