Hi. All of the above answers are right to a degree. You do need a CSCS card to work on any site belonging to a company who is joined the MAJOR CONTRACTORS GROUP. Which is most big construction company's. On smaller ones you do not need one , but you would have a much better chance of getting a job. If you work for an Agency they are required by law to pay for your course.

Yes you do. It is essential as far as Health And Safety goes. Some Site Managers REFUSE to let you on site without a CSCS Card.

It involves a lot of tea-drinking, then it's mostly wolf-whistling at females walking by, then it's purchasing jeans that don't fit properly so the back hangs out for everyone to see.

it all depends on the companies policy, theres no such law but some comp's want their employees to work on cscs so the employee is in charge of his/her contributions & tax.
if you are on any benefits these may be affected while on cscs
so check with eployment agency.

no you don't need one..tho they def help and you get more money if you have one.
