when u divide u have to minus the powers.
e.g
6x(cubed) X y(to the power of 5)
_______________________________
3x(squared)X y(squared)

first the x part.
6x divided by 3x = 2x
cubed=3
squared=2
3-2 =1
=2x(to the power of 1 which =2x)

now the y part
to the power of 5 = 5
squared = 2
5-2=3
=y cubed.

so you end up with 2 x X y(cubed)
hope this helps
