At one of their concerts they said that they were ashamed to be from Texas because that is where Bush is from. That's all good and dandy, people are allowed to say whatever they want, but when you're in country music, where everyone is conservative, you have to be ready and willing to accept the consequences of your actions. And as far as them winning at the Grammys, it doesn't matter. They act like they have made a comeback. What it really is is that liberals (the Hollywood entertainment industry) are the ones that voted for them. It is not fans and it sure isn't only country music artists that voted for them. They won because the liberals like what they did. I mean, do you honestly think that people like Mary J. Blige and Kanye West listen to the Dixie Chicks? It's all a political thing. They have made no progress in country music and certainly not with country music fans. So, it's all just a really big sham!

While doing a concert in London, England, Natalie said that she was ashamed that the President of the US was from the state of Texas (which is where the Dixie Chicks are from). That's it. Freedom of speech, pure and simple.

They made some comment about not being proud to have a Texan president act like Bush. I remember Newsweek? mentioned they thought the Chicks would be big in 06 because all they did was say what allot of others said, they just said it first.

That they hate Bush. They said it back when everyone loved him. Now that almost everyone else hates him too, what they said is no big deal.
They also got into a little thing with Toby Keith. Where they were almosted shunned by country music. By the way how many awards does Toby Keith have?
I defend their right to say whatever they want. I may not always agree but they have the right.

They just told the truth. They had the temerity to actuality question the thoughts and actions of the Nitwit in the White House when our other hired help (both branches of the U.S. Congress) didn't have the stones to.....

They only said what most of the country is now saying. They were just wise enough to know it earlier than some and had the platform to say it from. I live in Texas and feel much as they do.

They basically said that they were against the war in Iraq and were ashamed that President Bush was from Texas.

They were in another country and said that they were ashamed to be from the same place as President Bush. For me its not so much that they made that statement because everyone has the freedom to say what they want. But for them to go out of the country and say it was low. I mean if ur gonna say something about the president of the country that you live in atleast have the balls to say it in the USA.
