I am not sure if the 360 was a marine motor all its life so i need to check and seeif it will work in my Dart or if I have to convert a bunch of stuff to make it a non-marine motor. Can I tell just by looking at the outside? There is no intake manifold or carb so i will be able to see mostly anything.

Beware, marine motors come in standard and REVERSE rotation! I had a buddy who thought he was getting a great deal on a complete 502, starter and all. He was surprised when he fired it off and reverse gear went forward! 1, 2 and drive were in reverse!

There's not much difference otherwise.
COMPRESSION RATIOS are the same, usually 8.5 to 9.0 to 1
BRASS frezzeplugs are the most obvious. Carbs and distributers are marine specific. The marine carburator is streetable, but for the distributer, you'll need a vaccum advance.

lower emissions controls, compression difference, different styles of cooling passages, look at the ID plate stamped on the block and look on the internet somewhere to decode it

only difference is larger water jacket inside the block to allow for better cooling, otherwise than that essentially same engine.
