Yeah they are great catchy lyrics, but why do we sing along with them and dance to em. I do it too, then i feel like a fool when i realize what they are talking about. I think they should lay off on women in thier songs. Because face it with out beautiful women in thier video it would be really boring. No one would really look at the video and pay more attention to the lyrics. Theres actually alot of talented rappers out there. Who agrees??

Well some of the beats are just the bomb and the lyrics...that is another story but for some rappers their music tells a story or paints a picture.....Like Tupac's lyrics have messages.....But I have a friend who loves that music because she gets a thrill out of seeing guys stare at her because she is blasting it in her car...ATTENTION GRABBER....I MEAN SHE LIVES FOR THE MOMENT......But you do have a lot of rappers that have the gift of writing lyrics and putting a nice beat with the composition.....they tell stories some are false but for the most part you have those they lived hard lives because they didn't have anything or other issues that were going on with them at the time......It helps...It is soothing, fun, and their feelings and emotions come out and alive.....I think you have guys that write about their experiences that have had....I agree sex sells.....You have a lot of females that look at it as change in their pockets and to be honest some of the video girls have done other things to make some extra change......Not saying that all of them do it but a lot of them do it. I agree there are a lot of talented artists who fail to realize what they are doing and you have some females that are paper chasers...they don't care what is being said or done as long as they get that money or make that money......
I watched a special on BET or VH1 on video girls and hip hop and there were a lot of girls who were young but they have dreams of making it big and they think that that is an avenue that will help them...not to mention you have artists that are older and they use that as bait....It is sad. I remember seeing a Grandmother saying well her daughter has to do something because she has kids.....It was just sad. I believe that there are other things that go on but nobody is talking about it...it is being swept deeper under the rug and it is piling up....Sooner or later it will come out....It is sad to say but as long as sex sells..feuding amongst other artists continue, wars among groups.......well people chasing money...It will always be there.....You have top executives that are pushing it because they know sex sells....Doesn't matter in what form.....as long as it sells....

Well to be honest I don't listen to rap - although I used to, just a bit and I agree, there ARE talented ones about, but few and far between.
Since I don't listen to rap I don't feel stupid when I sing along to it. Cos I just don't sing along to it. The fact that the lyrics are so degrading towards women put me off in the first place, which is a shame really... because I generally like nearly any kind of music.
Anyway, that's my thought about it.

There are not a lot of talented rappers out there. Rappers with real talent are few and far between. The rest just think they have talent and want to just make some money to show off to people.

Looks like you proved my point with this quote. Nothing is about the music, if they were judged strictly on their musical abilities and not on how many hoes they have in their video, they wouldnt be very popular.

I agree 1000% b/c in the song shake your money maker (old song) there are a bunch a half naked women in there being order around by men and we just sit and wonder its amazing what money can make you do. For example stripers may be the poorest lady on the streets but you dont have to sell your body like that. And in the song on the hotline there is no going around preety ricky wants to **** someone in the viedo. And in the song i wanna **** you akon just saying hey you wanna ****. Women now a days are being degrader into mens playmates so yes i do agree with you

Well i do agree because i do it 2 and you cant stop rap videos and lyrics change there always going 2 say sexual and proverted stuff no matter what you cant change it that's how it is even though i hate what they say i sing to it even if it's retarded trust me i hate i just like you do.

I love those crazy songs. I know they aren't something you'd wanna sing in church or in public around most people. lol, but they are catchy and fun to sing along to.
I personally don't take any offense to the degrading lyrics, I enjoy them.

Talented rappers..... I don't think those two words can righfully go in a sentence together unless preceeded by "not very" or followed by "don't exist."
