If you talk of the "surprise" element then it must be the "Indians".

For me the surprise package will come from either England or India .
The reason i am saying this is that the English team is developing and making rapid progress in terms of performance and in terms of spirit. They have shown a lot of character in australia where they won the tri series for the first time in a number of years.
I also say India is because they will be the team which will not perform up to the expected level and will be the out before the semi- final stage.
They are unable to adapt to the West India pitches and they are not performing like a team. Hoping that this will not be true but let see what fate has in store for these two teams at the world cup.

England have to be the surprise package now. A week ago you would have been surprised if they made it passed the group stages of the World Cup. But after the results of the past week, they will be brimming with confidence and have match winners in Collingwood. Flintoff and Plunkett. They beat the Aussies without Pietersen so they should be even better when he returns.
Apart from that, South Africa have been on form recently and India are due a good tournament.

Either Kenya or Canada. They are in the same group as England and New Zealand. England is doing very badly, and I am sure one of them will beat England to get into the super 8. I think Canada will be able to beat Kenya. They had this wonderful player last WC (I forget his name) who hit a really fast century. Hope he's still there.

The surprise package for the upcoming world cup will be Team Bermuda, this is their first world cup appearance for them and i think they will put their 100% in all the matches and you might find some surprising results

I do not think there will be any major surprise as the competition to win the world cup will be between the top 8 teams and no other team will be able to poise any threat..

of course kenya, zimbabwe will play their semis with australia and south africa and will defeat them. in finals, kenya will beat zimbabwe.
