Why is it that NBA - Milwaukee Bucks Guard Michael Redd wasn't named to the allstar team even though he's sixth in the leaugue in scoring. 27.7 points per game. He made the team before averageing 22 points per game.... Even though he's injured it happens all the time where a player who is injured is named to the team then replaced. EX... Yao Ming - Carlos Boozer ........ ?????????????????????

1... His team is bad.
2... Yao was elected by the fans. Most fans don't care about Michael Redd or don't like him because he is killing their fantasy team (I actually got lucky, I traded him for J-Kidd six days before he got hurt)
3... Coaches' elections, through which Boozer was elected, occured before Boozer got hurt
4... Redd has been injured longer than Boozer.
5... The year he made it at 22, he was doing better rebounds, assists, etc... it's not all about points (although that got Melo in).
He would have gotten in had he not been hurt most likely.

Probably the fact that he was injured didn't help his chances with the coaches who vote people on the roster. And his team wasn't doing good with wins.

Yao Ming lives in China. China has like a billion people, so accept the fact that he's never going out of the ASG as long as he's in the league. Boozer was injured I think only 1 game before the reserves were picked, and Utah was one of the best in the league. Go figure.

BTW, Kidd seems out, so its either Redd or Johnson who's going to the game. And if Redd still is picked, he wouldn't have come because he's still injured.

Redd gets overlooked because he is easy to discredit. He doesn't get a lot of assists, but nobody on his team is a better option then he is to generate offense. Much like how Eddy Curry gets chastised for having too many turnovers and not enough rebounds or blocks, Michael Redd seems to get his scoring dissed too. Both are the light at the end of the tunnel for their bad teams filled with some younger talent who can do the things like assists and steals that will allow him to focus on his amazing shooting abilities. With only 12 all star spots and 4-5 going to the stupid Nets and Pistons each year good players on bad teams have to be left off.

that's basically you, he's definitely hyped up...He would desire to be a bench participant at maximum suitable. He brings no protection and he's a ball hog. fairly some situations the ball stops in his palms, the place he takes the shot. residing in Milwaukee, there is greater lawsuits than compliment. Michael Redd often makes the participant he defends appear as if an all-celebrity. 2 years in the past, he replace into protecting Jarvis Hayes (yeah no person incredibly is conscious him) and J Hayes scored a season intense 32 factors. he's a siv. The huge opinion on his play is he would be a brilliant set off off the bench (what Cleveland needed 2 yrs in the past yet didnt get their wish) and then he would be a brilliant asset. As of now, he basically shoots way too plenty and would not incredibly get the group in contact. With the group they have, they might incredibly be an superb interior-outdoors group yet fairly some situations via M Redd's selfishness, it is going to become one dimensional and the group would not improve a style of play. Michael Redd isn't any LeBron, no Kobe, and definately no celebrity yet in his head he feels he would desire to be an all-celebrity each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. i comprehend you notice him as a brilliant shooter, which at situations he could be yet fairly some situations he's not. The dollars are a terrible group via fact they're too centred on M Redd's play. Drafting Bogut and Yi, the group would desire to be build around them yet regrettably, the worst backcourt interior the NBA is protecting them back. yet definitely everyone seems to be entitled to his opinion yet think of roughly this, why replace into he a 2d around %.?

I wouldn't say that Redd was overlooked. He just wasn't even on anyone's mind. Redd isn't an All-Star yet! I believe if he can somehow stay healthy then he will definately be in with the likes of Glen Rice as an all star MVP one day!

He isn't a high market player, and his team stinks. There are a lot of players that should have made it but didn't. He could score 50 pts a game, but if his team is giving up 110+ and allowing the other team to shoot 50%+ then they aren't going to vote him in.

Scooney who? :) I just loved saying his name.

Because his team sucks and there are better Shooting Guards in the Eastern Conf. who will perennially make the All-Star team before him (see LeBron James & Vince Carter)

Remember when he came out of OSU people didn't give him any love. They thought Scoonie Penn would be the better pro. All he does is ball his a... off.
