Yes. I was spoonfed the class warfare garbage by a very left wing family.

Then I developed an academic interest in economics and a career interest in finance. I read up on the subjects and it soon became apparent that the whole class warfare argument is a sham, a shell-game. People just starting out make only a bit more in inflation-adjusted dollars than did people just starting out a generation ago, but people at the height of their careers make a lot more, and Paul Krugman takes those numbers and tells you they refer to permanent groups of people even though every shred of data on the subject shows that the membership in the various "income quintiles" he and others refer to turns over almost completely within a decade.

I am still angry over being lied to for much of my life and my parents think I'm selfish for wanting to keep what I earn. Actually part of it is probably that I've progressed further in my career than they did - something they're supposed to be HAPPY about. If my kids don't get further than I have I'll consider it a failing on my part as a parent - that's the whole IDEA and that's how most families work.

I am neither related to nor do I deal with people who dispute the fact that Bush, Cheney and the whole Zio-con Klan are evil.
