I got a ring that has been past down through the family. It has never been sized before. The size is 7 and I wear 10 to 10 1/2. Can it be size up that big?

Yes, just make sure to take it to a jeweler that is used to working with estate jewelry. I would go to a private one, not a chain store to have it done, they are usually well trained and don't hire people off the street and will be more careful. You could wear it around your neck on a chain, the integrity will not be there once you size it and depending on the value it may take away from it, I would ask the jeweler. Good luck.

Yes. What need to be done is to remove the bottom of the ring and replace it with a new bottom in the correct size. This is called a full-shank refitting. It will cost about 200$ to have done in wg or yg.

Ask the jeweller for his opinion, it depends on how thick or thin the band on the ring is to start with.
