Why are people so afraid to live life and enjoy it?
Why do so many fear some being (god or goddess) that they cannot prove? There have been arguments for and against with noone winning. It is what I call the impossible to know arguments.
If noone can know for sure they do or don't exist, I don't see why people worry so much about it? Are they that desperate for a heaven? Do they want people to burn forever?
What gives, and why are people so afraid when you can't prove it either way? Why do they even bother believing it till it has been proven?

Miss Elllie, no smart remark or anything, but your logic of "They bother believing it because there is NO PROOF that it isn't" doesn't hold water.
What would the world be like if you had no proof the booger monster didn't exist, so that was your proof that he did, and you therefore never went outside?
What if you took it that because you couldnt DISPROVE Santa Clause, or the tooth fairy, or the invisible pink unicorn, that therefore they did exist and not only exist, but were a terrifying force to be afraid of?
Hmmm... Am I missing something here?
I am trying to see the logic of this...

Tha, I do not trust in money.
I simply use it because it gives me what I want.
Whether is is backed by gold (probably not from what I heard) remains to be seen.
It isn't that I trust them, it IS that it gets me what I need in life, and that is all that matters to me.

It's kind of like asking why people are afraid of the dark.
Now I get nervous walking down a dark alley in the city late at night. It's not because of the dumpsters and stray cats that I know are there, it's because of the possibility of things that I don't know are there. Is there a murderer or rapist hiding there that I cannot see or hear?
The uncertainty and fear of the unknown can never be beaten.

Do a little bit of biology mate. In Australia 12 rabbits had been announced into Victoria within the Eighties for looking. By the Twenties rabbits had been in plague proportions everywhere the nation. Interestingly from that small gene pool the rabbit populace had advanced localized diversifications ie dessert residing bunnies had significant ears to aid them fritter away warmness and alpine residing bunnies had small ears to aid them hold warmness. This is th system of evolution at paintings. So to mention there's no proof for evolution is laughable. Why do we want a brand new flu vaccine each and every 12 months? Because the flu virus continues evolving! The fossil list indicates growing complexity of existence varieties evolving over the final six hundred plus million years corroborating the idea of evolution. Now we could have a seem at your proof, a 2 to 2 and a part thousand 12 months historic e-book of Jewish myths. Wow how convincing, no longer.

The word f e a r ... how do you mean that? Do you mean as in 'afraid' of them? or do you mean the Biblical version of fear being 'respect'. No one can prove pro or con about it. Desperate for a heaven...? I see it as a belief in heaven...and true Christians do not want anyone to burn forever that is why they do as Jesus asked them to do......worship and spread the gospel. They bother believing it because there is NO PROOF that it isn't and they have found salvation in the words of the prophets. Do you know a better way to get in the kingdom of God? mmmmmmm???? Until you can show a better different avenue; let it be! Are you afraid of being burned forever? Are you in 'fear' of that which you know not of???? ....just some thoughts on it all. no argument just sharing thoughts. I am a Christian.

Aahhh Carpe Diem my friend. Tis how I live my life. Although everyone desperately needs to know that there is more than just this. If you can find this book-"90 Minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper with Cecil Murphy, very interesting. We had a youth from New York whos heart stopped beating on January 19th, he was being kept alive by a bypass machine his heart restarted on February 11th. I wonder if he would have some answers for us?

"Proof is in the pudding"--as the saying goes!
--Have you gone to Fort Knox--to make sure there is gold in reserve?
--If not why do use money, if you exact absolute proof? What is it you practice when you spend the mighty dollar?------FAITH!
----You trust what you have been told by others In history and at present, about money ,do you not?
----No matter how you hide away from the fact that the written record is the most authoritative of all types of records of history, and that is indeed what the Bible is --totally true, with symbolisms and literal understandings that can indeed be interpreted with in the Bible itself!
DEFINITION OF THE BIBLES "FAITH"---
(Hebrews 11:1) “11 Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration*** of realities though not beheld.”
***FOOTNOTE:
“Evident demonstration.” Or, “convincing evidence.” Gr., e´leg·khos; Lat., ar·gu·men´tum. Compare Joh 16:8 ftn.
----If you noted carefully the exressions "assured expect...", "evident demo...", "realities.
--This faith is practiced everyday by billions of people in an unbelievable number of times with unending number of ways.--- For instance when they wake up & turn on the coffee maker and have FAITH that gravity will work in order for the water to flow. Do you see the outline of this powerful force.--NO, --but you see what it does, where did that force come from?
Now just maybe stir the little gray cells and think about this 3000 year ,ahead of its time statement ,as to the force behind everything in the universe and the ONE behind it:
--Concerning the stars, galaxies, super cluster of galaxies etc.:
(Isaiah 40:26) “26 “Raise YOUR eyes high up and see. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one [of them] is missing.”
--Einsteins E=Mc2 had been compared to the statement of God being The source of "dynamic energy". Note just a few statements:
Today, scientists generally acknowledge that the universe did have a beginning. One prominent theory that attempts to describe this beginning is known as the Big Bang. "Almost all recent discussions of the origin of the universe are based on the Big Bang theory," notes Francis Crick.12 Jastrow refers to this cosmic "explosion" as "literally the moment of creation."13 But, as astrophysicist John Gribbin admitted in New Scientist, though scientists "claim, by and large, to be able to describe in great detail" what happened after this "moment," what brought about "the instant of creation remains a mystery." And, he mused, "maybe God did make it, after all."
--As to being unprovable , lets say you get a letter from the IRS--that you owe $ 49,000 in back taxes, and you have to pay it up within a month or go to jail and not collect 200! Even though this may not be true--will you fluff that written document and say that their is no authority behind what you have been given as warning? ....
--So too, in a grander scale, The Bible contains information about the God of the universe--by people who wrote down as , biographers, auto-biographers, historians, doctors, kings, lawyers, --etc. information on what this living God did with mankind for the last 6,000 or so years---AND indeed what he is going to do!
--These biographers never had a record of lying, dishonesty, collusion, etc., when they made serious mistakes they admitted it, and maintained a relationship with God and their fellowman because of the straightforwardness.
--The Bible has been proven as the most accurate book in all history and continues to be! Whether you would accept that proof is up to you , just as you would either accept the letter from the IRS or not--but do remember this the Bible contains the authority that all the nations put together could not muster up!
--Now as for false doctrine that religions use to threaten people, that is up to you to determine, but just as their is the false there also has to be the TRUE, --that is a truism that exist in every field of endeavor--One can't bury their head in the sand , and say I don't see it so it does not exist.

My own personal opinion is that humans need to have a belief in something greater than themselves. That fear inhibits humans...and that by believing in God, or in ANYTHING, allows them to function PAST fear. If you do not have to be responsible for your own morality, your own ethics, and can instead look to a set of divine rules, then you need not fear your actions.
I'm saying this all wrong, I know...but its difficult to express. Believing in God gives humans a way to know and practice "good", to explain what comes after death...the greatest unknown there is! Belief lets humans rely on something outside themselves for explanations that they cannot conceive of. Unfortunately, it also allows humans to feel superior, to feel in possession of knowledge that only a "believer" can have, moral and ethical superiority over those who do not believe, and over those who believe differently.
Humans believe in things that cannot be proven. Love, for instance. UFO's....monsters....wisdom... that which is wise to one may be foolish to another.
It is healthy, I believe (grin) to believe in something.
