Its a bloody ugly car!
But putting that aside, its meant to be a very good drive. The 130i is VERY rapid whereas the 120d is impressivly quick for a diesel and gives good economy.
Personally, I wouldn't have one, but I've recently seem pictures of the 1 series coupe that is in development and it is a VERY nice looking car. Wait until it comes out. It's a head turner!

Hi,
Not sure what a "series 1 is" 3 or 5 ?
But have never been impressed with the BMW - don't get much in the feature area for the cost and it has a sport ride; you feel the road (whether you want to or not). If you have an issue, over 36K miles cost you a TON to fix.
Best deal right now is with GM - 5 year 100,000 miles - so no repair cost if anything goest wrong and GM just won a bunch of awards for cars, trucks and quality. They are not the same company they were 10 years ago.
Here is a compair chart of the the 2007 Cadillac CTS 2.8L Sedan, 2006 BMW 3 Series Sedan 330i and 2007 Lexus ES 350 Sedan; GM is MORE features at 7K LESS in price !

If you want a REAL zip around - Solstice or SKY. You will have people stop and look and think what you could do with that extra 10K in your pocket (car and driver comparied them to the Z3 and they "came out close at half the cost")

except the BMW is critically greater value-effective, then this is a no brainer, there is not any way i might purchase a one million-sequence over a Civic for any reason, and actual international you will locate the mpg very almost comparable, quite in case you do distinctive twin carriageway-speed miles. ignore related to the cost Parkers says, BMW drivers have their heads so some distance up their own backsides that they think of they are well worth way greater desirable than they are actual! have you ever easily have been given coverage rates, because of the fact i might say you would be gazing £7000+ at 18 in spite of a years no claims except you're mendacity on your application!

its unique, but a lot of reviews say they expect a lot to go wrong, like the mercedes a class it has been built on a tight budget and the cut backs show.
also being a bmw the extras new cost a lot, i know it may sound silly, but if i had a car purely for the city it would be a smart, much easier to park and drive and perfect for in town.

BMW's 1-series is a unique car! So far as I know, it's the only 2 seater car on sale with 4 doors! I know what you're thinking, yes it has back seats, but unless both you & the person in front are under 5' 6", you can't use them! Try before you buy. Also try VW Golf GTi, which is a better car in every way.

Its a crackin little car, but not all that small compared to other cars these days. If you are worried about parking in the city then you might want to reconsider. BMW are a great brand and will give you cost free motoring for years, especially if you are buying new! Hope this helps, happy motoring..........
