Best book I ever read from Clancy was Red Storm Rising, concerning a modern day military confrontation between the U.S. and its allies vs. the Warsaw Pact countries. Great read. As for the Ryan books, Hunt for Red October was great as was Patriot Games.

His books are really good. Read Debt of Honor and The Executive Orders.

Probably The Sum of All Fears -- he nukes the Superbowl.
Makes blowing up the Capitol in Debt of Honor almost tame.

Rather like "most pleasant toothache," but Red October is sort of entertaining.

My vote is for either Sum of All Fears or Without Remorse. They are all very good.

"Without Remorse" is about the only book he has written that even approaches character development, so I'd say it's his best.

I hope, for his sake, he hasn't written his best book yet.
