If your phone is only 11months old, I'm very surprised they have discontinued the battery.!!! what make & model is it ? i maybe able to help you, if not surely one of your local phone shops have one through the back.!!!

If the phone won't work because of a failed battery you are entitled to a repair/replacement at no cost, as the phone was supplied unfit for use(should last over a year). As it's over six months old you may have to argue a bit, but asking the supplier about the sale of goods act, and if they can direct you to the nearest trading standards office may work wonders. Check ebay. They'll have it. I bought several batteries for my mom because of her outdated phones.

Usually they're discontinued for newer models. Cell phone batteries are usually made special for each model because of new designs. Also because manufacturers make a lot selling batteries. Nokia is one of the few companies really good about keeping their adapters and batteries the same.
