Ask yourself if you are applying to the right companies and if you are you qualified for the jobs you are applying for. Also i would suggest you get help in constructing a proper resume since this could be a reason for the lack of interest from companies.

Another thing, ask yourself if you are really willing to accept any job offer you receive, many times persons say they cannot get a job but what they really mean is that they are not getting their dream job. You might have to consider starting in a less than desirable job at first. Best of luck.

Depends on what you wanna do. I had the same problem but I kept cold calling people (not HR but people in the business). After about 240 calls I got an offer to start on a temp basis and I work there full time.

You will have to tell us what it is you are applying for. If you are in the US (esp major cities you can find a job if you try hard enough). So tell us what you wanna do and maybe we can all help build a strategy.

Jobs are overrated anyway. Join a hippie commune.

If its important to you, look up the yellow pages under social services and find employment counseling. I'm sure you will find some kind of free services.

Another thing you can do is submit a resume with your application. Make sure its a good one though. Follow up with it and call them after a couple of days to let them know that you are serious about working there. Don't be pushy or annoying though. Also think about what you put down on your application and resume and put yourself in the employers shoes. Ask yourself if you would hire you based on what you wrote down.

Try a staffing agency. They work for you. You tell them what you are looking for and they try to match you up with a job that you are qualified for. Sometimes these positions are temporary, sometimes permanent, and sometimes they are temp-to-hire (meaning that if the company you are working for likes you, they will hire you, usually after 90 days or 6 months or something). You do not have to pay a staffing agency, as they make their money from employers who pay them to recruit for them.

I've had the most success in temporary agencies. They evaluate your skills and give you a couple of tests in typing, 10 key, computers, etc. and match you up with temporary or permanent positions in a variety of companies.
