ATLANTA (AP) - Two teenage brothers were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for torturing a puppy by cooking it in an oven.

Joshua Moulder, 17, and Justin, 19, pleaded guilty in January to charges including burglary, criminal damage to property, terroristic threats and cruelty to children.

The brothers brought neighborhood children to see the dead puppy, then threatened to kill them if they reported it, prosecutors said.

Police said they found the dead mixed-breed puppy inside an oven at an apartment community center Aug. 21. Scratch marks were found inside the oven, indicating the puppy had been alive when it was placed inside, prosecutors said.

A necropsy on the 3-month-old dog found its paws and snout had been duct taped and it had been doused with paint before being placed in the oven, prosecutors said.

ya jail n then they should b sent to a mental institution after cuz it would take a mentally sick person to do such a thing.I hope they gave the fullest punishment.God for people that have tortured someone or something should get the same treatment(torture).I think that is something that they would never forget n could see how it felt for the poor puppy to get the same treatment.they should whip the 2 sods among other things.Anyway going to jail is a waste of payers tax money cuz now they get 3 meals a day n protection as well as opportunity being in jail. They need to make jail a place people wouldn't want to b like just bread n water n vitamins so they don't die.anyway this has got to b the worst thing I have heard in a long time and it's very sad to.The poor puppy

You know what is sad is that if the same thing is done to a human child then it seems that they don't receive as much time. Do you remember the little African American newborn baby girl that was put into a microwave last year? I bet no one got that much time for that child's life. The system is not fair and needs to help people before it comes to acts like this by having affordable or better yet non-profit counseling programs so disturbed people like this can get help before they hurt someone or something again. If these boys weren't caught then who knows what they could have thought of next, because like you said they already threatened the witnesses lives if they told-it makes me sick!

Death! That is the worst thing I have ever heard. If someone could do this to an animal they are only one blink away from a human. THey need to be terminated. We dont need more whacks in this world. Someone should duct tape their mouths and noses and put them in the an oven on 500 deg. I want to know where their parents are!!! How is it 2 children from the same family are this way?!!!

How awful, but 10 years seems good enough, when you can kill a person and get 5 years. I wouldnt have thougth they would get 10 years, hopefully they serve the full sentence. You know what they say about people who torture animals. We dont need anymore serial killers.

They sure got off too easy for that torture...what was that justice dept. thinking there? The death penalty is even to good for that malicious crime. I'm sick just thinking about that poor innocent puppy. And to subject children to that horrendous scene --- HANG EM! But first, duck tape their mouths and hands and douse em with paint............

They should be locked up for life with the criminally insane. That would never happen, of course. But no amount of therapy ever cures someone from being a sociopath or psychopath.

I think they should be sentenced to cleaning up after puppies and dogs in the animal shelter for the rest of their lives (supervised, of course), and when they are not working, they need to be in jail, thinking about the hideous crime they committed. I think they also need some serious psychiatric treatment.

10 years to start, then i think both boys should be forced to do COMMUNITY SERVICE in an animal shelter. No payment, and i also feel that these 2 psychos, need lots of mental help. god help these children. deliver them from evil. I will never forget this story and pray for thier mental health.

Hard to say, but i would say that they should get fined big, but the parents shouldn't be purnished. Maybe they be put in a detention or something like that.

They probably need an evaluation. Something is obviously wrong with them.
