I think I know what you mean. If you're sending roses, the color coding is this:
White= Friends
Pink= You like them
Red= You love them
Yellow= Congratulations
Multicolored= You are a very special person, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise
So, the perfect Valentine's message would be red, for love. Or on the more suttle side, pink for like!

Light pink and red are both valentines day color.
