Just quessing but do you have a stuffy nose, sore throat, kind of stuff. You may be not able to breath through your nose at night so you are breathing through your mouth. that will dry everything out and make you miserable in the morning. It may also mean you are snoring at night. Sleep apnea will also cause mouth breathing at night. Get someone to check you out or run a tape recorder some night when you sleep.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!
1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.
2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.
The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.
After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net
Ohhh..and Good Luck!

since you wrote that you read about everything concerning your issue on the internet i'd imagine you aren't dehydrated but more than likely have a virus left over from your illness.
viruses are able to live in us a lifetime for we are their host.
maybe you need to cleanse the inside of your body with some very strong herbal remedies and even the old cure of drinking cod liver oil might work and try some quinine also

simple dehydration.
Write down when where and how much WATER each day you intake. this does not count soft drinks, alcohol, beers, coffees even
gator aid - just water.
the average body needs 50% of your pounds in water at ounces plus 10 ounces.
example person weighing 200 pounds needs 110 ounces per day of water to function at its best. Allows body to not retain water in fat cells and stay hydrated.
obviously your aren't getting nearly that much.
start small and train your body to accept the water.
at night the average person can lose up to one full quart of water.
ask your self do you have a full bladder in morning, some what full or just a trickle.
good indicator of water capacity.
