According to their website, it is non-toxic, non-irritating and non-allergenic except if you are allergic to wheat gluten, in which case you would have an allergic reaction.

No. It is kid-safe. It is mainly a mixed dough made from flour with water and food coloring.
The biggest concern would be if little lumps of it fell on the floor and dried out into a size ball that could be a mechanical choking hazard if a baby put it in their mouth. Toxicity is not an issue.

No, it isn't toxic, it doesn't stain and it is water soluble. The exact recipe is a secret, but it is primarily a mixture of wheat flour, water, deodorized kerosene or another petroleum distillate (which provides the smooth texture), salt, a drying agent such as borax (which deters mold), an alum-based hardening agent, and colorings, and perfume. So if you really wanted to sit back and eat a jar of it, you could. And if I remember correctly, I liked how it tasted when I was a kid.

Play-doe isnt toxic at all. I guess if you wanted to eat it you could but it wouldnt be very good because i have made play-doe before and all's it is is flour salt and water and more but none of it would hurt you in any way unless you have an allergic reaction to it.

Many children (pets) do eat this stuff.
I was one out of many who made this stuff. I worked for a toy company and was put into the chemical room with our white suites on and our chemical masks (respirators). They even had us go through hasmak (sp) training.
There is little amounts of chemical in this that if one ate enough of it it would definitely kill you. Hence why we had the chemical masks on. We had to handle this chemical that is in this, but full strength. The full strength stuff we were taught would burn your throat and nose if we even smelled it.
Then there is the huge barrels of glue that is used to hold the dough together. This in itself is harmful if eaten enough of it. Other chemicals were added in, but these will always be my memories.
I would think one has to eat a offal lot of it to be harmful, but who is going to chance it? I would not let it into my house around my children after this.
BTW I do not care how they advertise the stuff, I was there I made it....
