Do I loose my masculinity if I dance?

Who defines masculinity or femininity? It is society that defines it. The concept of masculinity and femininity is a collective meaning given by people from one generation to another. Several societies share common belief systems and traditions which is called culture. In this case, the concept may not signicantly change in definition in meaning from one society to another as long as both shares the same culture. However, it may differ from one culture to another.

There are cultures that look at dancing as feminine and imposed sanctions for men who engaged in it. For example, middle east men. However, there are also cultures which encourages men to dance and would consider it macho to do so. For example, latin americans.

I DO not believe this. I love men dancing. I love to dance with men. More so if they can dance really well it is a turn on. So, I do not see how you would lose your masculinity if you dance. Many cultures believe that dancing is how you "show off" to a woman. Such as latin american cultures. I know where I am from when men dance it and dance well it is known to be a must have in a man. So I say keep dancing. If someone thinks you gay for dancing so them your moves. They are probably jealous.

Ok then, I have 9 sisters, count'em 9 and each one them has told more than once, they wish guys would dance because women find men who dance sexy. The only people who tell you if you dance you must be gay are usually guys too insecure of themselves or just in possession of two left feet so they have to dump on it.

Ignore that crap, Dance like you've never danced before.........

And NO, you won't lose your masculinity.

The only reason that I, personally, should not dance is concern for the safety of the people around me. Yes, I am that uncoordinated. Masculinity has nothing to do with it.

Women want men to be able to dance. Anyone who questions your masculinity is either afraid to dance or is trying to reduce competition.

I think that men who can dance are super sexy! I personally love to dance...it doesn't make you more feminine or gay. It means you can move!
I have heard that stigma attached to straight men who can dance, and trust me...you are SO much hotter than the wall flowers for having the confidence to get on the dance floor and tear it up.
;-)

Funny how it must be a cultural thing... there's a folksy song in Spain with a line "Maricón, el que no baile" (He's a Poof, who doesn't dance).

Dance and let the world's opinion be damned.

It's only true here, where men are uptight and die of heart attacks and prostate cancer. In the rest of the civilized world, men love to dance.

If you lose your masculinity on the dance floor I'll get down on my hands and knees to search for it.
