I've tried A and D, Balmex (the worst), vaseline, bottom butter the list goes on. The last diaper rash my daughter had, which was asctually strep, the doctor recommended triple paste. It didn't work for the strep, but I noticed that it does do an amazing job on regular diaper rash. A and D and vaseline seem to be the most mild, so I use that when I see she is getting a little red. The triple paste is expensive, but I only use it when she has diaper rash and it really gets rid of the redness fast.

I swear by Desitin Overnight. It's really thick and keeps everything away from the baby and wipes off easily. I'd also suggest a small amount of ibuprofen BUT talk to you doc or the nurse advise line for the dosge. Also, you might want to ask for a prescription for Butt Paste. It's stronger than the stuff you buy in the stores. My son had TERRIBLE diaper rash. His little bottom was practically purple. I used the prescription and it healed in a matter of a couple days! If you get the prescription, it's very sticky and thick so don't try to wipe it off all the way it will hurt the baby. It dissolves a lot in a warm bath. Also, you might want to try laying out a mattress pad or changing pad and let the baby "air out" a little bit each day. Good Luck.

All of the creams are pretty much the same, but for severe or reoccuring diaper rash, the best thing is to mix 1 tube of Desitin with 1 tube of neosporin. Seal in a bowl or something that can be sealed shut with a top. THIS WORKS WONDERS!!

The very best thing is just plain Zinc oxcide cream. This is the main ingridient in diaper rash creams, but I just use but the plain cream and it works way better. My friends baby had a horrible rash that she could not get to go away. She used Butt Paste and all sorts of different creams.. She even had to take him to the dermatologist. he was on prescribed creams and nothing worked. Finally she used the plain zinc oxcide and it was gone by the next day. It's the best stuff ever! I get mine at Walgreens, because not everyplace sells it.

Boudreaux's butt paste is great. But my son got an awful rash when he was small and I had to make some. I used boudreaux's and A&D ointment and some yeast infection creme and corn starch mixed together. This was directed by my doctor. It worked over night. I followed up for 3 days and he never had another rash like that.

Ointments with petroleum products should not be used with textile diapers via fact they water-resistant them. i like Burt's Bees diaper cream. it is form of pricy (approximately $8 in step with tube), yet i take advantage of it so rarely that the fee isn't a element. i've got extensively utilized a style I have been given off the internet referred to as infant backside greater valuable. it is made up of calendula, olive oil and bees wax. (in trouble-free terms a tip, olive oil on my own can paintings properly.) in case your infant does get a rash, yet another selection is to get flushable diaper liners to guard the diaper and use customary diaper ointment. Caldesene powder includes zinc oxide, yet medical doctors are steerage mom and father far flung from employing powders presently. i don't comprehend the call on that one. infant's in textile diapers generally have not got problems with rashes, so i'm hoping you're fortunate and in no way choose something.

i like the original desitin not the creamy kind, and i always use A&D ointment at every diaper change, it provides a barrier between skin and wetness to prevent a diaper rash before it starts.

I liked the Aveeno...I was using Desitin to no avail. The Aveeno doesn't have fragrance like the other brands that can irritate a delicate baby's skin.
