i think you should go to a tattoo or piercing parlor......piercing at the mall is just a little insane....you can essentially go work at claires and then get trained to do the piercing...so ring up a person at the cash register and then go pierce an ear....seems a little sketch to me

I had my cartilage done at Claires and I have never had a problem. It never got infected and I never got that bump that some people get. No matter where you get it done, there's always a risk. If you aren't comfortable with going there then I would recommend going to a tattoo parlor/piercing salon. Going to a place that specializes in piercings would probably put you more at ease. It will probably cost more than Claires, but since you are concerned, I think it's your best bet. Good Luck!

Claires uses guns to pierce which is bad. Guns force a mostly blunt object into your flesh. This could shatter your cartilage.
You should find a professional piercing studio that uses autoclaved needles. The gun even hurts more than the needle and the jewelry Claires uses is extremely cheap! Going to Claires is asking for infection.

I sincerely caution you against getting your cartilage pierced. I had this done, and have now had to go to a dermatologist several times to get rid of the keloid I got as a result of the piercing. A keloid is over grown scar tissue that forms a hard lump (very unattractive) about the size of a pea or even bigger. I have to get needles in it now to try to reduce its size. Luckily, mine is going down, and the dermatologist says I am having the best results from treatment he has ever seen in any of his patients...most people are not so lucky. he says piercing your cartilage is very damaging and 9 times out of 10 leads to keloids! so please think hard and long about it first! its not worth it!
