This is a marketing campaign. Lippi is getting the most liked players in Europe, not the best. FFS, Jamie Carragher was just selected for Europe, and Beckham is playing as well.
Who knows, maybe the first half well be present talents while in the second, Fergie and Lippi well both make pre-planned, 'secretive' subs. That is, United Legends vs. European Legends.
Something like that has to happen, as the game is planned while the season is still on, and Fergie would not want to play any of his players for more then 45 minutes.
If this game was being played a month after the season ended, I would say it would be a slight more competitive game.
However, I doubt that this match well be anything more then a very friendly match.
