Do you like the name Dakota for a girl?

I know a lot of boys named Dakota that go by Cody. I don't really like it.
But, Dakota for a girl, as long as you call her Dakota is very pretty.

Dakota is becoming VERY POPULAR these days! Everyone is naming their kids Dakota whether they are male or female. What about Lakota for a girl I think it's a beautiful name for a girl!

It's not a bad name, though overused. I personally would not use it since my neighbor's MALE dog is named that and I've always found Dakota Fanning a bit creepy but it is all about your preferences.

i love it. everyone else is saying its over used. but the only dakota i've heard of is dakota fanning.

Do you think they will think she's named after Dakota Fanning from "I am Sam"? It's being done too much but you're on the right track! Check out rivers in Africa and Asia...There are some nice ones. I have a daughter named Karma...

It's cute, but it's also a hot name for girls the last few years, so if you want something unique it's definitely out.

good grief what is it with u americans?? u all have absolutely no clue as to nice, universial names!!!! what if she wanted to be a lawyer working abroad? how could she with a name like that?? Sorry, but I hate it she will be laughed at by the rest of the world!
