I'm going just for 3 days, I've heard Austin is beautiful and fun. Can you please tell me what do you do or places you like to go there? Thanks a lot,

I'm an austinite! Stubbs BBQ is a great place to hit. alot of times they've got small concerts going on, and if not the BBQ is always great. Huts Hamburgers (down town) has some great food, and you will probably meet some interesting people in there. Mozarts is great. It's on the lake its a coffee type house. Many times they have live music. Spider house is another coffee house. A little different from mozarts. The atmosphere that is. I Don't think its warm enough to go kyacking at barton creek (not the mall) but if it is thats alot of fun. The Botanical Gardens across from Zilker Park are fun. O! the omni hotel downtown has a pool and a hot tub on the roof! just walk in (act like you belong) and take the elevator up and the stairs the rest of the way. You can see downtown city lights while chillin in a warm Jacuzzi. The Aboretum is a small public shopping center that is nice to visit. They'res a pond and some Cow statues and Amy's icecream along with a bunch of other stuff. Alamo Draft Houses are fun. It's a movie theater, but they bring you dinner! to you! like waitstaff and all. There's the North and South Rock climbing Gyms. The capitol is ok. Nothing spectacular. Its a big building. One of my favorite places (which is a little outside of austin but not 2 far) is the Oasis. Its a resturaunt on a cliff side on lake travis. It faces the sunset and you can watch the sun go down as you eat. Emo's is another live music place. Never been to it, but i've heard good things about it. I hope those were helpful. have fun in Austin! KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD!

Everybody young goes to 6th street. It's where to go for music, people watching, tattos and artists. But nothing happens until pretty late at nite. Stay in a hotel downtown and take a cab or walk. Skinny dip at Hippy Hollow. Austin is the coolest, but it takes a while to feel your way around. There's this one phenomenon to go see while you are downtown. It's a bridge where like millions of bats fly out every evening at twilight. It's on Guadelupe by the newspaper. Watch from the bridge, not from the park underneath unless you want to be sprinkled with guano. You can go boating on Lake Travis (gorgeous) or go a few extra miles and ride the rapids on the Guadelupe. You can take a motorcycle to Leakey and go up one side of a mountain and down the other. Motorcylce people invade Austin, including 6th street, by the thousands in June for the ROT rally. Not too far is San Antionio and the River Walk.
... Tell everybody at Babe's hi for me. Eat at County Line Barb-q on Bee- Something??? drive. Do your homework before you go to make the most of your trip. Austin is quirky, wierd, pagan, Catholic, Historical, Wild and fun. You may never want to leave.
