i used to always get yeast infections and that is what your probaly getting. Here's the kicker- we might be getting yeast infections and those little kits will get rid of them sometimes. I guarantee you that there's a underlying reason your getting them and that's what you need to find out. Go to doc and get pap-smear and exam, ect.. I had a great doc that wanted to end my suffering permently. It turned out I was getting ovarian cysts (non-cancerous in most cases they say) They were bursting periodically and that crap that comes out of them causes the irritation and possibly infections. Intercourse can really stir em up. First they'll try to put you on birth control because this helps the growth of em or whatever ( I forgot). If that don't work they'll want to surgically remove them(I had that done finally) Sorry- that didn't work either for me. I finally had the one ovary removed causing the prob. Oh my God -- that didn't work either I still had the itchies and irritations. I had the uterous out and have never had a gyno prob again. That was when i was 26 (I'm now 34). I hope I'm not scaring you, but I wish someone would helped me with this years ago. That wondreful Iranian (India decent) doc did. I think they are the best dam docs there is. Anyways... if your young you probaly don't want all that done, but get birth control it helps a lot. I just got tired of messing with that. good luck!

I often mistake the two! In my experience the odor and consistency is different. A bacterial infection has a much stronger amonia type smell and a yeast infection has a thicker cottage cheese consistency. However, it's very hard to tell the two apart so to be on the safe side I would always see a doctor.
