I lost my sex drive for a year. After months of counseling, I realized that it wasn't an emotional problem so I turned to my gynecologist for help ... that's when we found the answer. The birth control that I was on was overloading my hormone levels and throwing me off balance. I was moody on top of having no desire to even think about sex. I switched to Ortho-Tri-Lo (a lower dosage birth control pill that is still very effective) and after a month or so, I noticed a huge change in my moods and some increased sex drive. About three months later, I was back to normal.
If possible, I recommend a combination of a little therapy (to make sure that it isn't a real chemical imbalance that needs to be regulated with anti-depressants or anything like that) and a visit to talk to the gyno.
Good luck and hang in there!!

It could be the birth control method she's using. Not every woman can take hormonal birth control. I'm one of those women who can't. And I've tried several different hormonal methods, and each time, something really messed up happens to my body. Fortunately, the symptoms I had went away in a short time after discontinuing hormonal b.c. Your girl may not wanna simply discontinue hormonal b.c., so there are options like lower dosages of hormonal b.c. If she's willing to try, there are several barrier methods available to her by prescription. These are all non-hormonal, and the only side effects would be mild vaginal lining irritation from leaving the barrier inside for too long.

if your girlfriend has a chemical imbalance she needs to go to the doctors and find out what is causing this and any treatment that is available!

Are you possitive its a chemical embalance? Cause if it is, you do want her to see a dr. and then maybe the dr. can put her on meds. to help balance it out, then she'll get back into the swing of things.
Or, do something different. A lil foreplay may help.
Good Luck!

you need to chill out. there is more to life than sex. It sounds like she needs to go to the doctor. It could be a hormone imbalance, stress or a thyroid problem. Stressing out about it will only make matters worse. good luck.
