Try a decongestant it might help clear up the mess that's causing the chesty cough - have you been to a Dr? A chesty cough can be a symptom of a chest infection and could require medical attention. As for the tickly bit try drinking fluids are sucking on a lozenge, keeping the throat moist often helps :] Hope you fell better xxx

if you have a dry tickly cough, i found eating ice cube or even ice pops helps,i dont mean this will stop it but it does cool the throat there for stops the awful tickle. good luck x

Couple of spoons of honey (make sure its pasteurised as honey can contain a raw form of botulism) and lemon in hot water.
Ideally don't take anything over the counter.
If in doubt, best thing to do is ring your local chemis and just ask the pharmacist - they know all.

I just read this thing online about how to naturally get rid of a cough (since meds gross me out and make me feel sicker). One website mentioned that herbal tea is a great way to combat a cold. Plus, herbal tea is really good.

take 1oz of cloves, boil them in a pint of water... simmer for 30 mins- strain and drain, keep the liquid and throw the rest away.

add a teaspoon of this to your honey& lemon...

A good remedy is a little touch of whisky and an uncle joe mint ball leave to disolve and sip works better than any over the counter meds.
