I had someone cheat on me and the person that they cheated with was a man? I was wondering if the man that i was being cheated with would still be considered a mistress? If not what?

That would certainly be a polite thing to call him. The other things I wouldn't say in good company or unless I was alone. You have my sympathies for your troubles, and if you can work things out with your Partner, good for you but please keep your eyes open for any straying. Blessings.

A mistress, in this sense, is not just a woman with whom someone commits adultery, but specifically a kept woman - a long term woman on the side who is supported by the married person.

I don't think mistress is appropriate here because the term only applies to a woman. I think "lover" would be more appropriate.

Swine, B@stard, ... but the masculine form for Mistress is Master and that would be giving him too much credit.
