I know this is a little late in time but I have to ask your opinions about it. I was in Djibouti at the time on a tight flight schedule and I was shocked to hear of the news at the time of Saddam being hanged - the video was just as bad. I know what he did and how he ruled, it seemed that we handed him over to a blood thirsty goverment bent on vengeance that IS justified after all that he did. But why so quickly? Thats like handing a live Hitler or Josef Mengele over to the people who want to kill him (justified of course). We hold on to (imprison) and interview and study serial killers in the United States for years and years to understand what made them do what they did. He had to answer for all his stuff. He needed to explain it to us (the world) before he was executed. An interview would have told ME that. I just feel it was done too quickly without any closure. Does anyone else feel the same way?

No, and he died too quickly.

But you see the United States didn't have any part in his trial and death, it was the Iraqain goverment that had complete control over the situation. And as far as getting an explanation he was evil, what more is there to know as far as getting him to explain to the world why he did it? As for the video it's bound to happen. His trial went on for a long time, didn't you watch any of it if you wanted answers?

You want an interview to give yourself closure. Now I've heard it all. Who were we supposed to hand him over to? Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia? And quickly? Serial killers aren't kept alive to study. They are kept there because our court system moves too slowly to bring them to room temperature any faster. The Iraqi court moved swiftly, but gave him his day in court. Saddam had his opportunity to say his piece.

I have to stop now. This is one of those questions I can't believe are actually real.

Yes deary it was done too quickly for me too. We should have had a few "death by hanging" parties BEFORE the actual event like they do for the Oscars in Hollywood.

Yeah, I agree... his death should have been slower and more painful...

Seriously though, I doubt he would have said much if he was interviewed or anything, except for the usual finger-pointing and ranting...

We caught him in 2003, they hung him in 2007. Seems like they were very generous with letting that murderous bastard live as long as they did. Personally I figured him to be assassinated long ago.

It was an Iraqi court and Iraqi laws. Keep your nose out. I would have turned him over to the Kurds who survived his tyranny. YBIC
