The ghost of an elk has haunted my house for the last 6 months. I can often hear him clomping away in the bedroom or falling down the stairs.

Sell the house immediately. you are probably best just giving it away because once news spreads of haunted elks no one will want to buy it.
In the meantime, Elk's (dead or otherwise) cannot stand celery. I suggest that you arrange celery in vases around the house to ward off the elks.

don't assume that it is an elk,human ghosts also can make lot of noise.if things are moving around or going missing you have what is called a poltergeist.this can normally be a young child trying to get your attention.
if it is in the same area all the time try finding out your homes history(IE)deaths,accidents, were it was built on.
this may help (sounds stupid but often works)talk to the ghost and be as nice as possible and ask it to leave or at least keep the noise down a bit.

While the Elk theory is amusing, it is most likely a person haunting your home. Ask them to leave, to go into the light and be with Christ. Sprinkle salt all the way around the OUTSIDE of your home. It works:) Good luck

You need an old priest and a young priest. lol No really depending on your religion you can have a priest come an bless your house. You can also speak with them and ask them how you might be able to coexisted in the same residence. Other than that, try not to watch so many horror movies.

An elk!! You had to go and have a posh ghost then lol . Get earplugs so you can't hear them clumping away!!

Open all outside doors, call the Elk, tell him/her they will be so much happier outdoors, and GO!
How do you know it's an elk and how did it get in the house?

There's a program on sci-fi channel called TAPS.They go out and investigate haunted houses.Don't know if they have a website but you can try.My suggestion is to move.I had a similar thing happened to me years ago and I moved.Years later I heard someone was shot and killed in that house.My mom was living with me when we lived there and she said her bed was moving!! Scary,huh!!!
Your house could be sitting on top of a graveyard also.

summon a ghost hunter to shoot the ghost elk and then mount its ghost head on a ghost wall somewhere in a ghost house perhaps.
