Ill be in Dubai on a Tuesday for one day only. Ill need to receive a large amount of dirhams for a cash cheque. As my flight leaves the same day time is short. Will i have a problem with banks closing midday and re-opening in the afternoon? thanks !

All banks, including HSBC close for over the counter cash transactions at 1:30pm.

The closest HSBC to the Dubai International Airport is at Baniyas Square, about 4-5 Km away, but if you arrive at peak traffic times expect about 45-60 min of travel.

I think Mashreq Bank and some other banks are working in the afternoon also.

Welcome to Dubai.
