Boil a bit of vinegar on the stove in a pot. Your house will smell like vinegar for a while but it neutralizes the oil smell.

Open the windows. Turn on a fan directed out of one of the windows and if possible, light a scented candle. Might be cold depending on your location., but it won't take long to rid your residence of the deep fry stink.

This is one of the reasons I do not like to use my deep fryer! After I use it I go around the house with Lysol and light candles. It seems like the oder lingers for days. I would be interested if anyone else has any other ideas. This also happens when my husband fries eggs and doesn't use the fan. It drives me insane!

if you have an exhaust fan, use it or open lots of windows
