YES!!! It was terrifying! I couldn't open my eyes either but I knew there was activity around me. After that it seemed as though there was silence and perhaps I was sleeping but when I awoke I was sweating and my heart was racing. Sorry if this has happened to you. It isn't pleasant. Hope your day gets better!

Yes, sleep paralysis, it has happebed to me a few times. The body puts the muscles to sleep if you will when you are alseep to keep you from moving during dreaming. Sometimes the mind wakes up before this signal can be turned back on. It is scary and is hard to know what is happening to you in the moment.

Yes I have experinced that. When you are sleeping the 4th stage is REM sleep,(rapid eye movement) and this is your dream stage and your body locks itself so you do not walk in your sleep or do other things as a way to protect itself...and sometimes when you wake up....you are not totally awake or out of that stage of sleep yet, so you are still kind of locked in so to speak until you wake up more.

Sleep paralysis is a common phenomenon associated with stress.I used to dream demons were holding me down.I couldn't move or speak and when I finally got my jaw to move and cried out "Jesus",they would let me go.They were dark with hooded robes. But it was just a dream. My Mom had the same thing happen. She had an abusive father who died young(Thank God) but she would be paralyzed and dream she would see him coming for her, sometimes she'd have to literally roll out of bed to snap out of it.I think we all go through that at sometime or other.

Yes. I have those dreams every once in a while. They are very frustrating dreams because I find myself trying to make my limbs move and it just doesnt work.
