Anything is possible. I've seen some very asinine behavior from people who are answering questions. As sad as it is, death threats are certainly not out of the realm of possibilities.

If it happens once and contact isn't made with you after that, I'd dismiss it as some idiot just trying to piss you off. If it continues to happen, especially from the same person, then start documenting each time the person(s) contacts you as well as anything that is said from them. Keep physical proof (just copy and pasting everything won't work!) by printing things out, especially if they have a time/date stamp on them. Give any documentation you have to your local police.

I know that threatening stuff has happened to others and it's stupid.

some people lack a sense of humor and an imagination.
