Ok, I havn't played guitar for about 6 months. Previous to that, I had played classical music, and learned guitar method for about 4 years. Now I am want to ROCK(sorry about that). I have a cheap like 100$ yamaha and an antique Alvarez acoustic. I am looking to start a band w/ my church, and I want to know what books/websites should I look into. Also, what guitar should I look at (pawn shops, music stores, etc.) for about 200-250$?

Get a fender. I have been playing for 8 years. I play a martin acoustic and a fender strat. I play fender strat and acoustic live. Not my martin. You need to just learn how to play on your own without reading music all the time. You need to get the feel of how you can strum and get the rythem of the guitar. i would get a strat or fender acoustic, depending on what your doing, especially for a christian rock band.

well the guitar you should look at is purely up to you. thats a choice that you have to make. go out to music stores and try playing guitars that you might like til you find one that fits you and your budget. its hard to tell people what kind of guitars they should play. it would be like someone tellin you what kinda car you should drive or what kind of house you should buy. i could tell you that im not crazy about fenders, but you mite play one and love em. what one person mite think is the best guitar, another person mite think its a piece of crap. buy one that fits you and just start playin. the only way your gonna get back into the guitar and get any better is by practicing and practicing.
