The late Chris LeDoux had a song called "This Cowboy's Hat". And another one called "Under This Old Hat". He's got kind of a deep voice, sort of gritty. "This Cowboy's Hat" is a story song that sounds kind of ominous, about a cowboy getting harassed by a biker and telling him the story of what his hat means to him. "Under This Old Hat" is just kind of an upbeat love song, with sort of a Western swing sound.

Hope this helps. I like Chris LeDoux, his Western Underground CD was especially good. And he was a legitimate rodeo cowboy, unlike a lot of "pretend cowboy" country singers.

Yup,water boy is right. I was a teenager in the 70's and Chris was more of a rodeo cult star then, but got bigger and better as he aged. As far as being a cowboy, I agree, he along with George, Clay Walker and others really do deserve the right to wear a cowboy hat. You can tell by their hats that some of the singers wouldn't know one end of a horse from the other!

Everyone acknowledged wanna be cowboys however one acknowledged The King George Strait. That guy is aware of the right way to put on a hat. and he is a real Cowboy in contrast to your Tim's, Chesney's and Keith's. Sorry, however it is precise.
