You could take a food processor - attach the shredder and make a jar full of shredded soap - varying your colors. Stick in a spoon and could have fun washing up with that. Or you could just throw caution to the wind and throw all those left overs away and learn to live in guilt in shame. I admit it - have become a tosser. Luxury of a brand new big bar of soap won out. I don't save the left over pieces of aluminum foil anymore either. Sad but true.

I remember my grandma use to have a gallon jar in the bathroom closet. She use to keep the small bars of soap in it. It came in handy when unexpectedly out of soap before the trip to the grocery store. I saw her a few times take a couple of small bars of soap out of the jar and wrapped them in a cleaning rag then wet the rag down and clean the bathroom sink and tub with it. This could have been when she unexpectedly ran out of cleaning supplies :)

Buy a can of concentrated fruit juice at the market. Mix it up and put it in the fridge. Take the empty cardboard canister it came in and squish the bits of soap into it until it is full. You may have to soak the bits in a glass of water first, to make them soft and squishy. Once you either fill the canister or run out of bits, put it somewhere to dry out and harden up. Go to the fridge and pour yourself a drink of juice... good for your health.
Once the can is dry and hard, peel the cardboard off the soap and cut it into pucks of soap on a cutting board with a serraded (spelling?) knife or a steak knife. Voila! new soap bars, mixed colours like marble.

You have gotten some good ideas, you can also donate them to women's and homeless shelters. They take stuff like this, especially the short term places because the smaller bars are hygenic but not wasteful...as in everyone gets their own new bar of soap.
You can also give them to your favorite camper or backpacker. Usually the smaller the better.
These ideas apply to all the hotel size toiletries by the way.

Buy one of those fat sponges, make a small slice in the side of it with a knife, then insert the soap chips- leave in shower for ease of use! My kids even love this!
