I am planning an indoor picnic for Valentines day for my fiance and need food ideas.... Haven't decided if I want to do finger foods (such as sandwiches) or if I want to grab take-out. Our house is in the middle of being re-modeled so I can't cook anything unless it goes in the microwave.... Also, he and I do not like chocolate very much..... Need suggestions, please. Thanks!!!!

One year I made chicken salad sandwiches. I trimmed the crusts off bread slices and then used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut the slices into sandwich hearts, You could use tuna fish or any sandwich filling, but the sandwich hearts really do add a festive touch. You could get the sandwich filling at a deli if you don't want to mix it at home. While you're out, get some heart shaped cookies or pretty cupcakes.

Have a bottle of wine, french bread sliced, sesame crackers, brie cheese, other hard cheese, fruit (grapes, sliced apples, cantaloupe, strawberries, orange slices), spread for the crackers such as a seafood spread, shrimp cocktail, sliced deli ham, roast beef, salami, corned beef, and/or pastrami.

Feed each other as you relax, don't think about what is happening with the re-model work but what the beauty will be later and the beauty of the two of you now.
