She hits an Eb two about middle C in "Forever" but she has a full 7octave range including chest and head voice.

The guys before this post are wrong. Doesn't sound like they can distinguish head voice from chest voice.

If you want her highest note in recorded music. It's from her first album Mariah Carey. Listen to the song, All In Your Mind... Her highest note is an F7. She sings the high note at the very end of the song as it's ending.

Highest note in chest voice: G5 (Anytime You Need A Friend) (Mine Again)

Her voice is somewhat of a natural talent, some people just can't hit the notes she does, she supposedly can sing in more than the average octaves...which is quite a talent. However instead of placing insurance on her vocal chords, she placed them on her thunder thighs. Singing coaches won't help, you have to be capable of hitting notes like she does.

44 double D's make for big chest voice. // do re me fa so la te da = 8 octaves and Mariah is purported to have the full range which is extremely rare. However, in order to be popular today she must restrict her singing to three word phrases and hold the note till it breaks and screeches on each syllable of each of those three words. If people would buy songs where she is allowed to actually sing, you would really get to see what a good singer can do.
