Okay, not enough room up above. But I went through with school because I had went to far in the program to quit. I think I really lacked the confidence and practical skills to be a nurse and I just didn't really like it. As I get older, I wish I did like it, I'm tired of the jobs I have been working that have no future. Also, I've considered going to pharmacy school. I've been doing pharmacy technician translation at a mail order pharmacy for quite some time and I love learning about drugs. The only problem is I don't know how I would afford Pharmacy School, I would have to go in debt even more with student loans....and I don't want to move back in w/ my parents (I'm 24 and moved out of state) any advice? Should I try nursing again with a refresher course or Pharmacy School?

I had the same problem you do. I was more than halfway finished with nursing school and hated every minute of it. Then i realized that, if I hated it in school, i would probably hate it as a career too.

So I dropped out, took some time off, and am now back in school studying things I want to study -- English and Art History.

Pharmacy technician or pharmacists might be something that you prefer. Try talking to pharmacists and get information on their jobs see if it is something that you might like. You might even qualify for grants rather than loans, and grants you wouldn't have to pay back.

I know that student loans suck, but being stuck for years in years in a job you don't like would suck even more.

Do what's right for you.

Good luck!!

One thing to remember is that a nursing degree can open up a world of opportunity for you. You can go into pharmaceutical or biotech sales, you can go into private nursing - like going into people's homes. Maybe there is a part of nursing that you could enjoy.

Nursing can also be lucrative - save your money and then go to Pharmacy school if you still want to. Working one-on-one with patients could be a great asset to you as a pharmacist.

Good luck - You're still really young - it's ok that you don't ahve a 100% clear plan for you life right now. At least you're trying your best to stand on your own.

You do know that Pharm techs make a lot less than RNs, and that RNs make a lot less than Pharmacists.
Everyone in pharmacy school has huge debts. There are no grants only loans for pharmacy students. However, it's not that hard to repay them because average starting salary is over 90k.
Do whatever will make you happy.
To become a pharmacist, you'll have to take a lot of prereqs. It might take you two years to complete them. Some of the science courses won't transfer if they are more than 5 years old.

Don't waste time going back to school. You're in the right field. All you need to do is take a refresher course. You can make more money as a nurse than in a pharmacy... except you want to make illegal drugs and sell it.. hahaha.. we'll anyway, just go with the nursing stuff...
