When does it look cool and when does it look weird?
(Colours, fabrics, how short the short sleeves are?)

Yeah I know it's too cold for just the short sleeves. Trying to find a top I could wear under it.

you cant wear a girlie shirt over a long sleeve.. unless it's a girlie long sleeve LOL...
ok if you're going to pull it off i dont care what the style shirt you wear over the top or underneath... The bottom shirt must not be larger than the top shirt... that just doesnt work.. i mean it doesnt sit right.... and there is no way any sane person could handle wearing that. Then it's just about colours... n then worry about style.. sometimes the style of a top shirt wont work with the colour of the under shirt... but if you change the style of the top shirt but keep the colour the top shirt will work with the under shirt.
Sometimes style can throw off the colour proportion.
But if it fits right then stuff the colour/style combination.. if you think it works then it doesnt matter what everyone else thinks. You're the only person that has to like it, and feel comfortable in it.

Make sure that your first layer (the long sleeve shirt) itsn't too big and bulky. If it is then it will look bunchy and lumpy under your short sleeve shirt. On the same note, make sure that your short sleeve shirt isn't too tight. For colors, stick to solids. Or at least one solid. Throwing prints together can turn out wierd. I usually wear black or white under a color, or black or white over a color. Sticking with basics and neutrals are pretty safe. For materials, I stick with just plain cotton that isn't textured. Play around and have fun with it. Go through your closet and try stuff on together. Or go shopping and try stuff on to see how it looks. Trial and error is the best method to finding a new look.

The shirt should not be too tight or you may resemble a stuffed sausage. The shirt also should not be too baggy. The sleeves should be in that not-too-long and not-too short mode-basic t shirt sleeves are what you're looking for. As for colors-it's up to you, but they should compliment each other and not clash-don't wear a cool tone and a warm tone together.

I love wearing short sleeves over long sleeves. I guess it'd only look weird if you wore a fitted short sleeve over a really big long sleeve shirt.lol. I honestly believe this style only works with fitted shirts, not loose ones!

Wear a long sleeve thermal shirt (natural color). I've got a bunch of winter socks that match most of my thermal shirts. That's how I tie it all together. I like showing off my t-shirts, but it can be cold at the bar.

The socks thing helps a lot.

Wearing short sleeves, or sleeveless, when it's the dead of Winter makes you look less than intelligent! Other than that, it's your choice -- personal style.

shotr sleeves r worn with long or short skirts/trousers. it is not advicable to wear long sleeve with a long skirt. if a top is floral, check or with any kind of design, a plain coloured skirt or trouser best fits it

When it is cold it is best to layer your clothes.

Do it any way you like.

It would make the most sense to dress for in side the house, then and some for the car & more if you are going to be out side.

Shirt, sweater, light jacket, heavy coat. then you take off layers as you need.

It don't hurt to check out how others do it & see if it looks ok to you.
