I recently (6 weeks ago) separated from my husband of 3+ years. Sunday I got an e-mail from my old high school boyfriend letting me know he heard a little bit about it and wanted me to hang in there, that he went thru a divorce about a year ago, etc. Last night we talked on the phone for the first time in 6 or 7 years for 2 hours and he ended up inviting me to stay in his guest room this weekend because he is taking some vacation time from work. It's about a 5-6 hour drive. Everything was very platonic and just catching up on the phone and I am not interested in rekindling anything. Would it be very unwise to go?

You may be thinking platonic but he isn't. If you want to see him, find a motel near him and stay there. Staying in his house will be interpreted as an interest in sex. If that's what you secretly want, stay with him. If you want to be "buddies" stay somewhere else.
