It all depends on the person's age. I'd probably only give a phone to someone aged 12 at least. My theory is that there are both good and bad things about mobile phones.
the good:
well mobile phones will enable them to call you during emergencies. Mobiles make good mp3's which are a lot cheaper that ipod's ( that is in Malaysia anyways i'm not to sure about america ) Your kids will get two of the things they would most probably want. there are other benifits to using mobiles at a young age but there are too many to list here.
the bad:
Mobiles distract youngsters from their studies, calling their boy/girlfriends everyday, using the calculator in the phone to cheat in math exams, and basically no good mischief. Mobiles are also not good for our health. Mobiles somehow have a bit of radiation.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, teach the youngster to use and care for the phone in a proper way, set a limit to their calls (use a prepaid card). Make sure that it doesn't bother them from their studies. hope I helped!!!

Generally good. It gives them something to look at, to think about, to experience. If the youngster is young it is well to have them large and brightly colored. Be safe, make them childproof or out of reach. Actually, there is no way to make the sticks safe, so be sure they are fastened securely.

I think it is a good idea for youngsters to have a cell phone in case of emergency.

They are tools, and as such can be used well or badly. A great deal depends upon how the youngsters in question use them.

my friend it is the thing that which person is using it
i mean to say depend upon his thinking ,....... as one can make use of it in a good way as some days ago i have read a news in newspaper that a small child make an identification of a thief , a druggist , what ........ what i can say about him ......... and now he is in custody of police .
so it is vary and also depend upon person to person .
