I am 30 years old and did not have any insurance. I don't think I qualify for medicaid. If you know of any programs out there that can help me I would appreciate it.

depends on where you live, here where I am I qualified for a program called E-Mash they helped me establish a payment plan and one bill for $1,300 they made the hospital write off.
Any hospital cannot report you as long as you are making some sort of payment. I have been paying $10 / month on one bill for three years now, just enough to keep them off my back, since I dont have alot of money it works

Are you a Vet? they may help.. other than that I know of none if your do not qualify for medicaid. I am also paying throw the nose because of no insurance. You should be able to negotiate the same price insurance companies pay though, talk to billing and tell them thats all you can or want to pay they usually help out. I talked down my bill by 40%. Good luck. One other thing you could do is wait for it to go to collections, they always want to negotiate a payoff, but it will show up on your credit report but its not like a charge off on a credit card, when banks look at a medical charge off they don't usually punish you but do require a letter of explanantion as to why you couldn't pay.

hospitals have a little-know cash policy....they will only make you pay a percentage of the bill if you can prove financial stress, go to the cashier at the hospital u were treated at and ask for a decrease in your bill....and a payment plan

Go to the hospital's finiancial aid department. If your income is low enough, you can get free service. This is on the hospital bill, not the doctors bills.
